Spittler Engineering was created to produce high quality freeware for Microsoft® Train Simulator. In addition to producing end-user products, the organization also has as a policy of publicizing any novel techniques or original textures created in the course of product development. These techniques and textures can be used by other developers of freeware add-ons for Train Simulator at no cost.

Spittler Engineering was founded in 2001 by Judd Spittler. Mr. Spittler is an engineer by training... but not the type that runs trains. He received a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iowa, and a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering from California State University, Fullerton. Spittler Engineering is based in Upland, CA. His intense obsession with railroading goes back to the summer of 2001, when he purchased Microsoft Train Simulator on sale for $29.95.
The business model for the organization is based on that of many "dot-com" businesses at the end of the last century. Those companies discovered that in order to be successful, it was not necessary to make a profit. In fact, here at Spittler Engineering, we take this a step further and believe that we can be successful without any revenue, either.
